Our Process

We keep our process simple, so we can focus on tailoring to your learners’ greatest needs. That keeps the project focused on moving forward. Because we only use tried and true methods, you also get to feel confident that this is a process you can easily understand and participate in.

Our process is broken down into two core phases. Then, in each phase we break things down even further with smaller steps. These steps are like the single puzzle pieces. Our goal is make sure the right pieces go into the right spots, nothing is missing, and you get a clear picture of how your learning system will come together.

Discovery

This is where all the digging and question asking happens.

What does that look like?

First is the Needs Analysis. It’s definitely in the name - this part needs to happen. Think of it like one of your center puzzle pieces.

It can range from conducting interviews with various stakeholders, reviewing old or new surveys, questionnaires, focus group data, etc. and of course, reviewing any and all existing content.

How long does it usually take? It depends but usually a couple of months. We’ll know more once we talk about project scope.

We want to uncover and create conversations around these 3 core questions:

  • What’s happening right now with [your top challenge]?
  • What’s the ideal outcome or behavior you’re building towards?
  • What might be standing in the way of achieving that outcome or behavior?

Then, we take all that beautiful data and information and cross reference it with the ‘Super Six.’ There are six common learning gaps - think areas like motivation, skills, knowledge -  that end up being the biggest obstacles to more impactful programs and training.

What do you see at this phase? A detailed map that’s built specifically for your learners’ needs and the strongest pathways for them to journey on.

What does this translate to?

Clarity.

Now, we know exactly what’s keeping your learning experience from reaching deeper and more permanent changes.

Do you get to share input throughout this process? Absolutely!

Throughout the entire process, we will have review cycles with members of your team.  This curriculum system work is a team sport.

By the way, if you are serving international communities, you have to include your local team in this phase. Without their input and feedback, we can’t build something valuable AND culturally relevant.

Development

This is where creation happens. Your curriculum map and learning pathways start to really take shape.

Learning content gets designed, evergreen materials like facilitator guides or how-to videos for staff to reference get built, we test and upload into LMS (learning management systems) to make sure the the learner experience is smooth.

We build with your delivery methods in mind. Whether that’s blended/hybrid, in-person, or online.

And by the way, if you don’t have an LMS, but need one we’ll include looking and evaluating the right one for you.  Nothing worse than not knowing where to start or going off of someone’s recommendation only to get stuck with something clunky and a steep learning curve.

That’s why our focus is on learning and curriculum systems

Systems are holistic. We look at all the pieces and assess how they best fit together.

We want your investment to last a while. That means we build in areas that you can use when or if you want to scale your training or program.

Systems that scale and are evergreen. Your investment will get a long-term ROI when you bring us in as your learning and curriculum team.

We continue to have review cycles with you and key people on your team. It could be a SME (subject matter expert) on a particular topic.

There are always guiding questions, which make sure we minimize our own preferences and build for the most important group: the learners.

And of course, we include different ways to evaluate, assess, and gauge if learning is happening that go beyond just asking survey questions. We use tried and true adult learning methodologies and our personal favorite, the 3P Framework, to share where they are flying high and where they might need some more reinforcement.

By the way, reinforcement is a part of the learning process. Embrace it. Because on average, we need to absorb new information 9x before it starts to sink in.

If you want learning to be a “one and done” then we are not for you.  We believe that learning is a continuous process and it’s OK if someone doesn’t understand something right away.

Maybe that means adding a new kind of support material or sending out a short video reminder.

That’s why we make sure the offboarding gives you everything you need to confidently hit the ground running.

The development phase, at minimum can take four months to complete but could also take several months to complete. It all depends on how large of a system we’re creating. This is why a general rule is to be honest about your timeline.

When you sign up for a discovery call, we’ll send a pre-meet form for you to fill out.

It really sets a strong foundation for our conversation. Ready for the next step?

Let’s build something great

A strong curriculum can change someone’s life. We’ve seen it happen.
